Community Council Meetings
All villagers are welcome to Community Council meetings which are held once a month, usually on the first Monday. The next one is:

Friday 29 November - Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
If you would like to join us, please email email@example.com with numbers so that we can better assess how much mulled wine to make and mince pies to bake. And bring lanterns/glowsticks too!
Clive's It's Nearly Christmas Quiz Night: Saturday, 30th November
There will be a LIVE MUSIC ROUND involving villagers! Festive Dress to Impress. BYO drinks. Tables of up to 8 adults. All ages welcome, younger children can watch a film in the meeting room. £10 per person (ticket price includes food). 7pm buffet opens; quiz starts at 7.30pm prompt. We will hold our usual festive raffle for a Christmas hamper and other goodies, so please bring some change.

Seniors Christmas Lunch: Monday 16th December
All residents aged 60+ are invited to our annual Seniors Christmas Lunch at Hawstead Village Hall on Monday 16 December, 12 for a prompt 12.30pm start... and it's for free! The event is funded fully by Hawstead Community Council. 'Youngsters' (under 60s!) and non-villagers can come along too, but there will be a charge levied of £18 per head. Remember, we can also accommodate a free Meals on Wheels service to villagers so that everyone can be part of this special event.
The mouth-watering Christmas menu has been confirmed as follows:
Starter: Cream of Spicy Parsnip Soup
Main course: Roast Turkey with all the trimmings or Vegetarian option of Brie, Mushroom and Cranberry Wellington with Cranberry Sauce
Dessert: Homemade Christmas Pudding with Brandy Butter and Cream or Cookies and Cream Cheesecake or Fresh Fruit Salad
To book in, simply email or phone Susanne White on email@example.com or 01284 388166 and let her know whether you would like the meat or vegetarian option and whether you will be joining us at the village hall or require Meals on Wheels. All bookings MUST be received by Tuesday 10 December please.
Friday 20 December - Hawstead Christmas Drinks Party
6-8pm at the village hall, Hawstead Community Council will be welcoming all villagers, young and not so young, to its annual Christmas drinks party. There's absolutely no charge for this event. All we ask is that you come along wearing something sparkly or festive and enjoy the atmosphere together with your neighbours. All food and drink are free to villagers. Always a popular event, do please register your interest with Susanne White on firstname.lastname@example.org 01284 388166 so that we can make sure we order in sufficient food and drink.
